To get the change to show up in a Word document > Go to Tools > EndNote > Format Bibliography > Click Browse > locate the copy of the style on the list > Select the Copy > Click OK. In EndNote you can go to Edit > Output Styles > Open Style Manager > locate the style you are using > Click Edit > go to Ambiguous Citations under Citations > here uncheck the box Add more authors until the citation is unique > go To File > Save As > (EndNote will not allow you to change the existing style in EndNote but will always apply the change to a copy of the style) Click Save to save the changes to a copy of the style > close the style window. It’s a classic citation style used by writers who want to learn how to cite multiple authors in MLA. Then remember to follow it with the word and before writing the second author’s name in the same format. If you uncheck the setting in the style and use the modified version of APA 6th in your document then it would do Casano et al., 2016a and Casano et al., 2016b. Follow this name with a comma and then the second name. You can edit the style to change the behavior but since you have more than one reference from Casano in 2016 this setting is why it shows another author in the citation in the body of your document. These are full bibliographic citations that appear at the bottom of the page where you’ve referenced a text.The APA 6th style has the following setting which is causing the behavior: For Chicago style, you’ll use footnotes instead of in-text citations.Add a comma after the parentheses, type out the page numbers, and then close the citation with a period. If you’re citing particular page numbers, these will go at the end of the citation.Board of Education: Caste, Culture, and the Constitution (Lawrence: University Press of Kansas, 2003)."
(Don’t italicize article titles these appear in quotation marks.) Finally, type out the publication location, publisher, and date of publication in parentheses. Next, add the second and third authors’ names and the italicized book title. For sources with more than 1 author, include the first listed author’s name (first name first, last name second) and a comma. Separate 2-3 authors with commas and "and" before the last author.
